Meadowbrooke Gourds Annual Egg Hunt 2023

Saturday, April 22, 2023

11:00 AM - 03:00 PM

Meadowbrooke Gourds

125 Potato Road, Carlisle, PA, USA

How it works:

There will be 2,000 dyed gourd eggs along with 21 prize eggs in each hunt. All participants will be limited to 5 gourd eggs and if you’re lucky, 1 prize gourd egg. Please be courteous to your fellow hunters and only keep the allowable number of eggs.  You must register each person who wishes to hunt and keep eggs. Those that are just helping do not need to pay the fee. Our hunts fill up very quickly (normally within 24 hours) so start talking to family and friends now so when it opens, you already have a plan.

Who can hunt?

One big question we get is, can adults hunt too? Our answer is that this is more of an adult hunt with kid’s helping. The eggs are not easily seen considering you are normally walking in 6″ winter wheat. So yes, this is a hunt for all ages. Please remember you are on a farm and especially the early hunt, the wheat can be wet from dew so boots may be a good idea.

Registering:

Please register your entire group under one name. When the box comes up to give individual names, click the box so that the purchaser's name fills all the tickets. This will make check in a lot easier and faster.

Cost?

We will be collecting a donation of $5.00 per person to participate in our egg hunt. This donation is nonrefundable and $5.00 of each ticket will be donated to Upper Frankford Fire Company. When you check in for the Egg hunt, you will receive a $5.00 coupon to use towards a purchase of $25.00 or more in our retail store valid only on the day of egg hunt.

Other ways to help community:

We will also be collecting canned and non-perishable food to donate to Paws Pack. Paws Pack is an organization that distributes food to children in the Big Spring School District whose family may be having a hard time right now. If you feel so inclined to donate, you can hand them in at the tent you sign in at.

FAQs:

*Is the hunt pet friendly?

No. We ask that you do not bring any furry friends to our events because of the number of people who will be attending.

*When should I arrive to check in?

Please plan on arriving at 1/2 hour to check in and then you will be able to find a great spot around the field to begin your hunt.

*What do the eggs look like?

There will be samples at the check in table of what the regular eggs and the prize eggs look like. New this year, the prize eggs will be painted gold.

*If I want to help my child look for eggs but do not want to collect any, must I register?

No, we will have arm bands this year to indicate who is hunting and who is helping. Those that want to keep and hunt for eggs must register and pay the fee.

*If I miss my egg hunt, can I get in another one?

No, we have only a certain number of regular eggs and prize eggs in each hunt which is for 400 people. It would not be fair to those that registered to add extra people to hunts.

*Can I get a refund?

No. Egg Hunt tickets are non-refundable, and they are also not allowed to be resold.
